I am a Portland transplant from Boston, attracted by the city’s diversity and green initiatives. As an animator, designer, and art preservation nerd with over eight years of experience in the picture framing industry, I have unique access to Portland's art scene. I currently manage a hip little frame shop in the Pearl and separately have a freelance business as an animation consultant. Though both businesses continue to grow and I have received numerous awards and recognition for my work in both fields, I am looking to branch out into a career that utilizes my skill set in a way that better impacts the community.

Created motion graphics for investment videos. Utilized expertise in After Effects to create visual interest in financial charts. Redesigned charts and graphs for optimal viewing. Maintained uniform brand identity and brand compliance. Provided quick turnarounds, negotiated costs, and developed a seamless workflow for minimal edits. Utilized experience in additional Creative Suite software such as Illustrator and Premier to work across multiple platforms.

Innovation Catalyst Partners, Inc. - Roslindale, MA (August 2010-January 2011)

Created series of fine art, medical animations for feature-length documentary. Worked within deadlines and with high level of creative responsibility from initial concept development to final product. Exercised skills in straight-ahead, frame-by-frame animation. Developed character designs, storyboards, and provided wide variety of stylistic approach, ranging from clean-cut, Flash vector images to fine art, pastel drawings. Utilized pre-production drawings and animatics in Flash and Maya and consulted with on-site scientists to adhere to microbial accuracy. Completed all post-production in After Effects and Final Cut Pro.

 

Plymouth Rock Studios - Plymouth, MA (August 2008-October 2009)
Provided extensive research on the Studio’s environmental impact in the community and studied methods for improvement. Designed and prepared newsletters and animated promotional materials highlighting innovative “green” solutions in the industry in Flash and InDesign. Created concept artwork and finalized animation in Flash and After Effects, focusing on motion graphics, highly detailed layers, textures, and 3D lighting effects. Maintained seamless working relationship with the Chairman and Vice President, providing innovative concepts and designs. Worked successfully with high level of responsibility as a team and alone under strict deadlines.

Created short, hand-painted animated sequences for feature-length documentary from concept development to finalized production. Animated frame-by-frame with tissue paper and ink developed from character designs, storyboards and animatic. Edited for post-production in Final Cut Pro.
